This is less of a post and more of a random thought, but I really wish that more MMOGs 1) had spears and 2) made them cool to use. I’ve always thought that spears and their derivations were particularly interesting weapons. Part of the reason that they aren’t usually included is a simple matter of the fact that they require additional animation if they’re going to be done properly. Spears have a style of use that’s markedly different from other two-handed weapons that you tend to swing with, like swords and mauls. There’s a lot more stabbing, or in the case of naginatas, quick chopping.
